Alan Riou winner on the Classic 44

With EKOI Helmet and clothing

Alan Riou won his first professional victory, winning the Classic 44 ! Alan riou"It's a deliverance! I know I've been in good shape for two months and I knew I was close to winning, it feels really good to come through. This is my first professional victory. I was disappointed after my second place in the Tour de Bretagne, but today the plan has worked and I am very happy. In the sprint, I knew the last mile brought speed. I know I'm quick in the sprint and in a small group I often have my chances. When Godon started his effort on the right, I gave everything I could on my own and it worked. I'm glad the team trusted me. We have great leaders at Arkéa-Samsic, when you have to work for them I do it 100% and today it was my turn. It proves that I can also be successful when given my chance. It's great to make it happen. I missed getting so many notifications on my cell phone after the race (laughs). " Yvon Ledanois“It's great, Alan's victory is really nice. It was a race marked by complicated weather conditions. Anthony Delaplace played a key role tactically as there were two of them up front with Alan in a very small squad. With the speed that Alan has, you had to believe in his chances. He played perfectly. I'm happy that Alan wins because most of the time he's a teammate and today he played his card and won: that's great. Despite the conditions ... proof that when times are tough, only the tough guys get away with it. "

Matîs Louvel wins the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon

With Ekoï Gara Helmets and Ekoï Textile

Matîs Louvel wins the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon. He signs his first victory in the professionals! Matîs Louvel "It was a great day. I had the legs and the luck I needed! I managed to get into the breakaway with Bram Welten after trying several times from the beginning of the race. Little by little the group became smaller as we approached the finish. At 20 kilometers from the finish line, we were three riders at the front with a 1 minute lead on the peloton and the two riders with me crashed. I found myself alone at the front and I said to myself: "Well now, the destiny is in your hands, you must not crack" Arnaud Gérard motivated me very well. He said to me: "Come on, this is your day, you're going to get your first professional victory" He gave me the race information, I really trusted him, I never had to turn around to see where my competitors were. I knew that in order to win, I had no choice but to go all out! It's never happened to me to finish a race alone. I've always been fooled before. In the last kilometer I couldn't believe it, I didn't feel like it was me or that it was real. I was thinking "it's not possible, there must be runners ahead of me (laughs)". I'm really happy. It's my first professional win. It shows my progress, it shows that I have the ability to win and it gives me confidence. It's probably my main fault to not have confidence in myself. Here I am taking it to the maximum! It was a great day, I'm super happy!"

Étoile de bessèges : 1st exceptional step for our ambassadors

With Ekoï AR14 helmets & Ekoï Premium 80 glasses

Christophe Laporte, the Var puncher from the Cofidis team, took the first stage of the Etoile de Bessèges after a particularly thrilling final. He won by countering Nacer Bouhanni of the Arkea Samsic team. Nacer Bouhanni played the surprise card by attacking halfway through the last bump. Christophe Laporte was the only one to take his wheel to pass it before the line. Injured at the start of last season, Christophe Laporte shows in spectacular fashion that he is back to his best. In a race he won two years ago, he will do anything to keep the leader's jersey. Both riders wore an Ekoï AR14 helmet and Ekoï Premium 80 glasses. Christophe LAPORTE "I'm super happy, it's just happiness! 2020 has not been an easy year. All winter I was very motivated, I didn't have any problems and I knew my shape was good. I knew that to perform, I had to be well placed at the top of thebump. I expected someone to attack and I would have to manage my effort and get under the pedal. I did it and I'm also happy to have grabbed a few bonus seconds for the overall. Tomorrow is a sprint that I have already won but the field is higher. We will also try to take bonuses in view of Sunday's stopwatch. I am very proud to have started the season well for the team and to give confidence to my teammates and all the staff. We will do everything to continue our momentum! " Nacer BOUHANNI "I recognized the final of this first stage yesterday. I knew the climb up the Route de la Tour was more conducive to punchers than sprinters. I wanted to test myself nonetheless. I tried in the finale for this reason. I came to this 2021 edition of the Etoile de Bessèges to target the sprint stages. There w...

Our team, which has existed since 1998, has been able to adapt to the various constraints that were imposed and we have been able to cope. During this particular season, I retain the unfailing support of our partners, but also an incredible job of all our staff and a great professionalism of our drivers. I also remember our 2 team victories during the stages of the World Cup of Nove Mesto. For 4 years, we waited for this moment. And the 2 victories came to reward the work and the cohesion of our group. Today, after 2 victories for Victor Koretzky in Turkey, the season is officially over. And I am proud to see our KMC - ORBEA team finish the season in world number one! As in 2016, we end the year at the top of this ranking, proof of consistency throughout a year punctuated by thirteen UCI victories. Once again, I can only thank everyone, partners in the first place with KMC Chain Europe and Orbea, but also our other sponsors and suppliers who allow us to benefit from the best bike on the circuit. It gives everyone even more motivation for 2021."
