First professional victory for Florian Vermeersch

Lotto Soudal rider Florian Vermeersch claimed his first professional victory in Antwerp today. In the Antwerp Port Epic final, the 23-year-old Belgian was part of a leading group of six riders who would battle for victory. In a thrilling finale, Florian Vermeersch soloed his first victory as a pro after a tactical game between the breakaway riders.

"This first professional victory obviously gives me a wonderful feeling. After a disappointing spring and the bad luck I had to face, this victory is very satisfying. Last week I was also in a good position in the Tro Bro Léon but I I had some bad luck. Today I was able to finish and it's always nice to reward the team's confidence with a victory.
